Lenten Focus: Change for Change

Grade 2 will be going on a Spring field trip in May (dates to be announced). If you would like to volunteer, please ensure that you have a Police Check completed and turned into the office. WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE FIELD TRIP WITHOUT SUFFICIENT PARENT VOLUNTEERS. A MINIMUM OF 5 IS NEEDED.
Religion/Family Life: Focus on Reconciliation and continued learning about the various Sacraments/Learning about Jesus and his journey.
Math: Using mental math strategies to solve math word problems, double digit addition and subtraction with/out regrouping; explaining math thinking with math words; exploring measurement in cm and meters; time to the half and quarter hour; Using skip counting strategies to count money; rounding numbers to nearest 10
Language: Reading strategy - Learning to infer by using background information, clues room the text, and thinking about what the author is trying to say; Writing a descriptive paragraph, writing retells; editing work by using "Bump Up" examples of writing pieces
Science: Simple machines and Animals in their habitats
Arts: Dance - using body movements to move to music; Drama - using body movements and voice to portray a character
Gym: cooperative games/ eye-hand coordination skills, scooter hockey; basketball skills
Health: Healthy food choices/personal safety focus
